In African, African Australian Network works with communities and local partners to ensure children have access to a quality education, the right of every child.
The relationship between quality education and children realize their full potential is well established. Education which is poor quality in terms of the environment, curriculum and teaching is a problem affecting many children and youth. Unfortunately, a lot of children, particularly girls, are denied access to quality education or vocational training.
African Australian Network supports a range of efforts that give accessible learning opportunities for children and youth. These include early years learning and stimulation and quality learning in primary and secondary schools as well as alternative and reintegration programs to reach out-of-school children. It also includes learning through appropriate technical and vocational education and training, and opportunities for tertiary education.
To obtain a quality education, African Australian Network promotes the development of safe, healthy and child-friendly learning environments where children and youth learn through active approaches, African Australian Network also facilitates the empowerment of children and communities for quality participation in school governance.
